So what’s new? Cups made out of Corn is pretty exciting!
Unlike other paper cups that use petroleum-based plastic to make them waterproof, our cups are lined with a coating made from corn. So
while our new cup performs identically to standard paper hot cups, it is a huge step toward reducing our environmental footprint.
Last year, Americans used 14.4 billion hot paper cups.
Placed end-to-end, those cups would circle the earth 55 times. By using a corn-based coating instead of a petrochemical-based polyethylene, we will reduce the amount of non-renewable plastics our customers use by almost a quarter of a million pounds.
This fits right in with our eco-friendly printers from xerox. Our printers produce 95% less waste for the landfill system when compared with
regular laser printers. The wax inks are non-toxic and produce brilliant color.
